The community interest may be there but Jackson's Hot Air Jubilee still needs dedicated volunteers to get next year's event off the ground, organizers said.
Jubilee committee members met Tuesday night to discuss attracting volunteers and sponsors and fundraising efforts.

Hamrick, an East Lansing resident who finished 10th in the World Series of Poker main event, played regularly in a weekly poker game I played in three years ago.

The first weekend of play wrapped up Sunday at the new Big House Sports Bar & Poker Room with organizers citing a somewhat slow start to the new charitable gaming operation.
Despite smaller profits than expected, organizers said they were pleased that hundreds ventured into 510 E. Midland St. to check out the new mini-casino and its Las Vegas-style atmosphere.

Charity Poker Solutions, owned by Patrick O'Dowd, Jason Fuller and Tomas Cobb, plans to host Texas hold 'em tournaments four days a week on behalf of charities and nonprofit organizations.
