We had the pleasure of visiting the Buddies of Holt Charity Poker room on a Thursday night. Located in a strip mall, there's plenty of lighted parking.

Buddies was playing for American Legion 238 Auxiliary M58822 with proceeds going to the general fund. Buddies hosts charity poker Thursday through Sunday starting at 2pm each day.

Tournament Tables at Buddies

We played in the Thursday Night Second Chance Tournament.  $20 buy-in for 8,000 chips.  1 rebuy available for felted players until the 1st break.  At the break one optional $20 buys 8000 chips add-on.

23 players bought into this tournament.  Buddies paid four places, with $75 for 4th place, $130 for 3rd, $200 for 2nd and $345 for 1st.

Cash Games at Buddies

The poker room is located in a private room at the back of a family style pub & grill.  Sports on the big screen TV, darts along the wall.

The waitstaff, dealers and floor greet everyone as they enter the establishment.  They make you feel welcome and at home!

Buddies offers free pizza for players every day from 2pm to 4pm.

Custom Felted Tables at Buddies

Buddies has custom chips & custom table felts on their poker tables.  No cup holders on the tables, which is great - no opportunity to spill a drink, or hide cash chips!

Side tables are everywhere, with plenty of room for your snacks & beverages.

The tables are clean and bright, chairs are comfortable and cushioned.

Staff: 5 of 5

The staff at Buddies is what really sets this poker room apart.  They are friendly and knowledgeable.  They know all the regular players and greet them all by name, and work hard to get the cash games together the players want to play.

The dealers are fast at delivering cards, dividing split pots, and keeping the action moving.  The floor is quick to address any player concerns.

Buddies waitstaff is fast, friendly, and serves up some of the best nachos ever!

Overall Score: 23 of 25 Chips

This is a great neighborhood charity poker room.  The regular crowd is fun, friendly and welcoming.

Dealers, floor people and waitstaff all make sure they welcome you to Buddies.  They run a professional, friendly charity poker establishment!
