Trip Kings at Garden Lanes

UMichiganPoker visited Trip Kings on a Friday night around 9pm. Lots of action on the cash tables upstairs, plus three still full tournament tables going downstairs. The parking lot was packed with poker players and league bowlers. Trip Kings was playing for IAFF Local 1911 Garden City Firefighters General Fund M47122 from Friday to Sunday.

Trip Kings offers more games than UMP has to offer. TKE offers Blackjack, Hold'em at many different blind levels ($1/$2, $2/$4, $4/$8 with varied min/max buy-ins), Omaha ($1/$2) and Round by Round at $1/$2 blinds. There is always action at Trip Kings, and sometimes a waitlist to get on the cash tables.

Trip Kings offers many different tournaments each day of the week. $5 rebuy tournaments and Deep-Stacks are offered throughout the week. Each tournament starts on time, and uses Tournament Director software on the big screen to keep everyone on the same blinds. Blind structures are not too aggressive and levels increase at a good pace. Trip Kings hosts the biggest tournaments building the largest prize pools in the area. All tournaments pay out 80% - the max allowed by the state. Win your tournament and get your photo on the Wall of Fame!

There are two different levels at Trip Kings. The tournament is seated downstairs, and upstairs depending on number of players. Cash and Blackjack tables are all upstairs. Chip sales by the charity volunteers are on the first level in the cash game room. High Def TV's are both upstairs and downstairs so you can keep track of your game. Bar food and beverages are available in the poker room. Downstairs is quiet. Down one chip due to the upstairs bowling alley noise.

This is a very nicely equipped poker room with green speed-cloth tables, custom hot-stamped chips, and lots of other perks. There are no cup-holders in the tables to trip up your cards, and lots of Trip-King custom side tables to hold your drinks & snacks. Speed-cloth covered coat racks all over the room keep the coats off the back of the chairs.

Staff: 5 of 5 Chips

Ed, Paul and the staff at Garden Lanes are attentive and professional. Questions and issues are addressed quickly and consistantly. Dealers are accurate, knowledgeable and fast! All dealers are in black pants & TKE polos or white shirts. The room manager is on a walkie-talkie to keep communications open between both levels. Extra 'points' for the waitstaff at the bar & snack bar.
